This team gathered Pokémon with generally high base stats so it can create a win condition against any opponent, built with an eye toward countering the many strong new Fighting-type Pokémon in the environment. With Mega Dragonite as the main axis, it deployed a special sub-axis Mega, an ace that stacks boosts via Quiver Dance, and a Scarf-holding stopper-cum-sweeper (Garchomp). Finally, the team was completed by adding a Sheer Cold Vanilluxe that breaks stall/wall compositions, and a Ghost/Steel-type Pokémon that shifts into a late-game physical attacker.
There are three win routes: Choice Scarf Garchomp rattles the opponent, after which the axis Mega pushes through with high firepower while acting first; the Quiver Dance ace stacks boosts in a favorable matchup and sweeps the whole team; or Vanilluxe collapses the opponent's wall composition with Sheer Cold. The axis Mega is always sent out first to protect its ability activation, and its Ice/Fire/Fighting-type coverage moves are swapped depending on the opponent to widen its answer range. Another feature is adopting many flinch-inducing moves that, while not guaranteed hits, leave room for a comeback.
