In the M-B environment, the combination of Hydreigon + Metagross and rain teams increased, and the fairy force sharply decreased, leading to a strong steel meta. We judged Umbreon to be the strongest against both Metagross and rain, and built the team to leverage it. The basic plan is to establish an Umbreon Yawn combo with Garchomp's Stealth Rock and then push through with a Sap Sipper Meganium. The initial composition (including Metagross and Mimikyu) was vulnerable to Toxic Spikes/Toxic, Blaziken, Staraptor, and Baton Pass, so we removed them and filled the weaknesses with Glimmora and Delphox. Final rank 44, rating 2505.[Key Pokémon Points]Meganium: Item Meganiumite. A max speed individual adopted directly from other top players' adjustments. Upon Mega Evolution, its ability changes from Leaf Guard to Mega Solar. At +1, it outspeeds Mega Delphox and Mega Greninja. With Ancient Power, it handles not only Charizard but also the strongest Mega slot this season, Delphox, by hitting its weakness (assuming Garchomp's Rock Tomb, Stealth Rock + Umbreon support). The core strategy is to disrupt the field with Garchomp's Stealth Rock → Umbreon's Yawn, then suppress with Ancient Power/Solar Beam/Weather Ball.Garchomp: Item Focus Sash, Attack-focused (higher firepower than HB/HD builds). Almost every match, it's the lead Stealth Rock setter, establishing the Umbreon Yawn combo. For some opponents like Delphox, Charizard, and Duraludon, it attacks first then sets Stealth Rock. Rock Tomb has about 70% accuracy against Delphox; even one hit allows Meganium to finish with Ancient Power. Dragon Tail was also adopted, and the principle of not killing with 1 HP but using it as a cushion until the end was maintained.Umbreon: Item Leftovers. The biggest beneficiary this season, favorable against Metagross, Delphox, Hydreigon, and rain, with counters weakened due to the fairy nerf. Won many matches by simply repeating Stealth Rock → Yawn disruption → subsequent finish.Primarina: Changed from Sitrus Berry to Chople Berry (Sitrus Berry given to Glimmora). Max HP, S for speed tie wins, C for decent firepower, rest B. Originally chosen to counter Hippowdon as a partner for Metagross, but after removing Metagross, its lead rate was lowest. Its real strengths lie in its follow-up performance against Mega Blaziken and Perish Song (formerly Encore) to stop Baton Pass. Against specialized attacks, it can retaliate against Close Combat (72-85), Jump Kick (78-93), and Thunder Punch (61-72) unless it's a critical hit, and it comfortably withstands opponents with Swords Dance (119-141). Misty Terrain also nullifies Hippowdon's Yawn, and on the final day, it stopped all Baton Pass teams.Glimmora: Item Sitrus Berry. Max HP, S to outspeed uninvested Aegislash, rest D (including Sitrus Berry, 3-hit resistance to non-Mega Dragonite's Draco Meteor, calculated at Sp. Atk 0/-2/-4). It neutralizes opponents that block Meganium, such as Toxapex, Gengar, Lopunny, Venusaur, and Dragonite, with poison, and almost completely incapacitates poisoned opponents with Power Gem/Earth Power. It was also a strong card against stall teams.Delphox: Ability Blaze → Levitate. S to outspeed non-Mega Greninja, max C, rest H (not concerned with Mega Gengar; Meganium is sent out against it). It's an alternative for opponents where Meganium isn't effective, such as Staraptor and Floette. Meganium + Delphox alone covered most Mega Evolution opponents.[Basic Lead and Operation]Garchomp + Umbreon + Meganium (or Delphox), Glimmora + Umbreon + Meganium (or Delphox) are the basics. Against Baton Pass opponents, Delphox + @ + Primarina was used. Against opponents with Blaziken, Garchomp + Meganium + Primarina was used. On the final day, Garchomp + Umbreon + Delphox was particularly frequent and highly effective.[Opponents to Watch Out For]Iron Defense + Body Press Metagross was the most troublesome, and it was mentioned that its adoption is expected to increase significantly next season, raising concerns that Umbreon could be targeted in return.
