A mono-Bug type party. While maintaining the existing strategy of breaking through regardless of speed, centered on the Mega Pinsir + Focus Sash Scolipede combo, we reinforced firepower with Scizor (Life Orb) to counter newly introduced Staraptor, Mega Raichu Y, and Mega Blaziken. Mega Scolipede was also considered, but its move and speed management were difficult, and using Pinsir for the Mega slot was a better fit for the environment, so Focus Sash Scolipede was ultimately adopted. Season M-3 highest rating 2222, final 2208 (2043rd place).
Mega Pinsir: Sky Skin (Moxie before Mega Evolution) ability, Adamant nature, A-specialized attacker. With Quick Attack/Thrash/Storm Throw/Bulk Up, A+1 Quick Attack can OHKO Mega Blaziken, and has a 25% chance to OHKO Mega Staraptor.
Scolipede: Focus Sash, Speed Boost ability, Jolly nature, Swords Dance + Leech Life build. A+1 (Intimidate + Swords Dance) Gunk Shot has a 31.3% chance to defeat Mega Staraptor (including Brave Bird recoil, the rest are finished by Pinsir/Scizor), OHKOes Gyarados, and A+2 Leech Life deals 70-80% damage to a neutral Garchomp. Since its build is not yet widely known, it made opponents wary of Mega Evolution or Baton Pass, and Focus Sash worked well.
Scizor: Life Orb, Technician ability, Jolly nature. Bullet Punch/Quick Attack/Dual Wingbeat/Swords Dance build. Dual Wingbeat 2HKOes an HB-specialized Skeledirge, A+2 Life Orb Bullet Punch has an 81.3% chance to defeat Hydreigon, and A+2 Life Orb Quick Attack can reduce major Mega Fire types by 80-100%. However, the difficulty of dealing with Mega Metagross after Garchomp has taken damage remains a challenge to be improved.
Araquanid: Maintained the same build as the previous season (Liquidation + Scary Face + Mirror Coat + Sticky Web). For opponents with OHKO threats like Staraptor, Alolan Raichu, or Swords Dance Life Orb Mimikyu, carefully consider whether to send it out first.
Vivillon: Same build as the previous season, only HP adjusted. It was intended to counter rain teams, but as rain teams decreased in the latter half of the season, it remained only as a countermeasure.
Volcarona: Lum Berry, Flame Body ability, Oblivious nature. Flamethrower/Quiver Dance/Giga Drain/Substitute. Substitute is not broken by Umbreon's Foul Play, and it is adjusted to withstand Jolly Mega Blaziken's Flare Blitz and Adamant Garchomp's Stone Edge. Adopted as a counter card for Belly Drum and poison cycles.
The inability to adequately respond to the increased number of sturdy Fire-type Pokémon in the latter half of the season is cited as a point of reflection.
