Team Concept

With Mega Sceptile as the top-speed dealer axis, Hippowdon with Leftovers + Protect was adopted as a recovery point against Choice Scarf opponents that Sceptile can't withstand. Completed with Archaludon as a special wall backing up Hippowdon's Stealth Rock support, Mega Delphox for its strong burn-inducing pressure against Corviknight, Scizor, Meganium, and others that Sceptile is weak to, Calm Mind Primarina strong against Hippowdon/Umbreon/Delphox mirrors, and Swords Dance-surprise Kingambit.

Piloting

Sceptile accepts the Special Attack drop from Leaf Storm and competes on raw power, while also running a Substitute set with moves like Body Slam to play mind games. Against opponents Sceptile doesn't work well against, Delphox is sent out first, taking on the role of supporting the team's cycle and setup.
